Despite it's short length, the author does a great job in including Jonathan and Sarah's past and the reason behind their separation. Sarah is resigned to marry a man her father's age in order to save her parents from ruin, but I love that she decides to be selfish and go for one night of pleasure with Jonathan before she formally accepts. It took a lot of strength for her to approach him and make the offer. Jonathan cannot help but give into his attraction and lingering feelings for Sarah. At first he thinks he can use the situation to punish her for the hurt she caused him, but as the night progresses, he accepts that he was also at fault. Their night at Madame Rouge's is sensual, erotic and full of emotion. I love this series, can't wait for the next one!
